This base station marks a significant development as it will be the first facility explicitly built for the Honolulu Ocean Safety Department.

The upcoming construction tasks will include the demolition and removal of the current asphalt roadway, followed by the installation of a new sewer lateral connection to an existing sewer manhole. Restoration of the affected roadway will also be part of the project. Construction work will occur during nighttime hours, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Friday, excluding holidays. During this period, a single lane closure will be enforced, and the public is advised to anticipate delays and exercise caution in the area. Drivers are urged to follow all traffic controls, posted signs, and guidance from special duty police officers.
